The Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport has launched a competition for the restoration of the ex Monastery of St. Catherine, in L’Aquila.
Scope of work is the implementation of a single 3D model of an historical building where the significant disciplines such as architectural, structural and MEP designs should be well coordinated.
The accuracy of the BIM model allows the contractors to approach the integrated design in the early age, making every suitable improvements before the construction take place. This means that during the execution there will be few errors and far less reworks needed.
